Assemblymember Brian Maienschein Speaks at San Diego Election Reform Meeting
Last week, the Independent Voter Project hosted a meeting of election reformers and invited guest speaker California Assemblymember Brian Maienschein (R-77). Assemblymember Maienschein is an election law professor at the University of San Diego, and in the Assembly, he serves on the committees for Human Services, Judiciary, and Governmental Organization.
He told those in attendance about the importance of bipartisan support in getting legislation passed, including election reforms. He spoke about different reform efforts he believed would help California, and the group discussed some of the current popular solutions, like making election day a state holiday.
