RT America invited Independent Voter Project's counsel, Chad Peace, on their ‘Breaking the Set‘ segment to discuss the hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars that have been used to conduct closed partisan primary elections.

Host Abby Martin discussed the record low turnout rate in states like New Jersey.


In the 2013 primary election for example, there was only a 9 percent voter turnout of eligible voters — 130,340 voters. The cost, therefore, per participant in the primaries alone was over $92.
