Independent Voter Project
Sips and Civility - Political Networking Event Oct. 29
Talking about politics doesn't have to be taboo, it can be a party!
Join other young professionals as we revive the tradition of civil discourse in an evening of full-bodied discussion and drinks on Wednesday, October 29th. The League of Women Voters (LWV) and Independent Voter Project (IVP) will provide nonpartisan voting resources and materials on upcoming November 4th ballot initiatives. We encourage you to bring your sample and/or absentee ballot.
You will leave a more confident and informed voter!
6:30-7:00pm - Networking/Social
7:00-8:30pm - Voting Discussion Stations
We will have a table set up for each Ballot Proposition. There will be an expert from the LWV's Speakers Bureau at each table to lead discussion and answer any questions.
Note: only those who have RSVPed will be allowed into the event. Only persons over 21 with a valid ID will be permitted alcohol.
There will be food and beer provided so come hungry and plan to drink responsibly - or bring a designated driver.
We will be sharing the event on social media using the hashtag: #SipsAndCivility - Join the debate online!
Drink - Discuss - Vote!
A huge thank you to Ansir Innovation Center, startup hub located in Kearny Mesa, for generously donating the space and encouraging a healthy civic conversation!
